From as far back as I can remember, watching photographs come to life in the darkroom was a magical moment.  Having amassed over 30 years experience, watched my company grow, embraced digital technology and achieved my lifetime goals, I am now back behind the camera creating images for a small number of discerning clients. From the simplest pack shot to a complete exhibition stand, each commission receives the same attention to detail, commitment to excellence and unsurpassable level of service.

My enthusiasm is contagious.

Let me share this passion with you.

My passion for photography started at school. At fifteen, a couple of friends and I built a school darkroom to continue the creative process. By twenty I had completed three years study of the subject at Wigan College of Technology achieving merits in the written and practical categories. In addition, I received an award for the top student of the year “submitting the best portfolio since the course commenced ten years ago” (Dr John Hannavy). Whilst at college I also had my first feature published in a trade magazine.

For the following 20 years, I ran a successful company in Preston providing photography, design, exhibition and laboratory facilities for clients in the private and public sector including advertising agencies, fellow photographers and both local and international companies. Considerable investment in the latest technology facilitated a seamless transition into digital capture and output providing discerning clients with an even wider range of services.

Sharing my love for the creative process has always given me great pleasure. Between 1985 and 1995 I lectured part time in the evening and weekends at various colleges and achieved the status of City and Guilds accessor. This busy and exciting period often necessitated working through the night to complete photographic assignments for clients. More than 5 hours sleep was a luxury

In 2004, I made the difficult decision the sell my share of the company. This was for a number of reasons. Primarily, I was spending less time actually taking photographs and more time managing projects and overseeing the running of day to day business.

So, here we are some years later and I am very content. Hopefully, my clients would say the same too. I can continue creating images, my clients can benefit from my experience, flexible and relaxed approach.
